Aspects can be used to tell the GM who is doing what, when not actively participating during a portion of the game. For example, if your aspect is to be on the lookout for any brown puppy, at any point a brown puppy is in the area I will secretly roll the players awareness skill. The advantage to this, is at any time a player forgets to mention what he or she is doing, they are always actively attempting to do something. An aspect can be anything of the players choosing, however it must have GM permission. At no time will the aspect give a player a dice advantage, but will allow the player to ascertain information they may not have been capable of rolling for without the aspect. Each player may chose one, but no more than one.
